Instructional Switch Kick
Learn the switch kick. The idea of a switch kick is to be able to perform a hard roundhouse from the side of your lead leg. Switching stances enables the fighter to be in the perfect position to deliver a left kick (in the case of an orthodox fighting stance).
The switch should be done quickly for a power kick. The “jump” related with the switch should not be a vertical obvious one, as not to “telegraph” the upcoming kick to the opponent. As with the regular rear leg roundhouse kick, the fighter must turn the hip and the supporting foot for power, and keep his guard up for protection.
