Pok Bill vs Janis Freimanis
KOK GrandPrix Semifinals Fight Between Champions
The Sailor is not just a nickname it’s a lifestyle. A lot of times he actually does his fight camp on a boat and works as a professional seaman. To be honest three modest fights primarily in his home country of Latvia with klk rolls through town and has been very successful there overall. He’s five in two in King of Kings and eight-five and one in his career fights.
The Muay Thai Academy with his training partner who will be fighting later on in the main event Raymond’s out the counties Fremont is 24 years old. He is also the shortest fighter in the tournament at 174 centimeters. Jabadov accompanies him to ringside. This is going to be very interesting. Pok Bill will debut here at King of Kings. He is the most experienced of the four fighters and also the most charismatic.
Well, that was the thing that Daniel, as we said at the weigh-ins even amongst the fighters, he was so popular they all loved him. He had a huge smile. Everybody was cheering, there was an incredible atmosphere.
Seeing these men will go to war today, there was an incredible atmosphere when he went up to weigh, they will love him. Pok Bill, 180 centimeters tall, before the fight, said “I feel strong and confident and that is shining through in Pok Bill’s entrance here.
He also said, “I am will shine tonight”. So this is why you need them, we need characters. Men can back up their entrances but the sport loves characters. Look at the people at their left feet, filming and taking, photos of him. This is what it’s all about.
Our second semi-final match-up was Pok Bill and Janis Freimanis. The winner here will face Lowery Salimala in the finals in a very very short time in the future.
Well, that was a mouthful from our ring announcer Rittez Cusmenka, but it’s all true folks. I swear by it and the other thing to remember is if Janis can get by Pok Bill here, we will see a rematch between him and Lowrey Sumela in the finals.
Great show of sportsmanship and we’re underway. Don’t sleep on Janis folks. He’s got to be more motivated than ever for this contest. This is the biggest fight of his career. Yes but Pok Bill already looking shot from that side. Look how focused he is, like a
laser beam.
It’s that left-hand Daniel, right through the channel. That left hand, the danger already. Well, Pok Bill was very charismatic coming out here, but he is certainly all business right now. He’s got his poker face on right now. That’s right the focus is there to see the movement though. I love the way it’s subtle and it’s short but he moves straight back out into these knees already coming in.
Pok Bill Overwhelming Janis Freiman
I think he’s overwhelming Freimanis here in this first minute. Right hands connect around the corner. Well, he noted that because Freimanis got a straight right-hand bin and he’s still gotta be careful but I think you’re right there’s an intimidation factor here at the moment from Pok Bill from the entrance to the way he started in the way he moves.
I think he got a good shot on the inside there in the abdomen and see some reddening on the left side of his body and Freimanis, you know, a lot of his fights do go the distance. So he’s a very tough guy and he doesn’t look the knock his opponent out in the first round. He’s not that kind of a fighter.
He has that long amateur background where they win on points. I don’t know if he can afford to do that though in round one because Pok Bill is really opening up on him. Well the one chance he got, the one thing he’s using well is that right hand, but as I say that you’re right Pok Bill comes in.
He can’t keep taking those knees. That sharp left hand as well. He steps away from the counters and comes in again. He’s got a mountain offensive and that right hand to me is the key to that offensive against the side. Freimanis has won by knockout before a couple of times in his career but he doesn’t look to rush things, he takes his time, he watches his opponent, he makes changes, and he’s able to adapt well.
But he took a body shot there that was beautiful with that left hand and his face is already marking up as well. As you mentioned earlier Dan, he’s already beginning to color up a markup from the accuracy of all the tools that Pok Bill has got. Yeah and if he’s looking the where down Pok Bill, I don’t know if that’s such a great strategy. He looks in incredible condition.
And he’s subtly controlling where this is fought as well. He went to go in to strike, and he stopped. There was nothing coming back from Freimanis. he dropped his shoulders he’s in control of where this is all as well. Look at that beautiful combination, lend the knee.
He is great at reacting too, he can hit you with a shot from any direction, from any point, and from any distance, seemingly. What a shot that was! The left leg set it up and the left hand came over the top but it only Illustrated what you were saying. And then he moves just enough away to make you miss.
Pok Bill Round One Masterclass
It’s been a masterclass in the opening round. So effortless here from Pok Bill it seems like. Well, it’s the thing, Dan, you said effortlessly. We’ve got another back to come back eventually. Look at the conservation of energy. Look at what he did without getting hurt. Look how fit he still is, it’s like he hasn’t done a round. All these things you’ve got a factor in when you’re in a grand-pix situation.
And we saw a man at the top of his game then. We take another look now at what went down in round number one. And there’s that movement, look at that left to the body that I mentioned. Then he turns this man and this is why he’s so hard to hit on the counter.
The right hand comes up short there’s a three-punch combination and that subtle movement away means your opponent comes up short and that’s what he’s done throughout the whole round. That left leg of that combination best of the round. Well, they say the shot that hurts you the most is the one you never see coming.
Pok Bill has done that several times in this fight so far. Janis Freimanis has not been expecting what Pok Bill has been throwing at him. While I was looking in Pok Bill’s corner and they want him to step it up. They were both very aggressive there.
I think they fail with this tournament situation, he’s got the tools to take his man out and they were saying really put the strikes in now. Let’s see Janis Freimanis – also has some great cornermen too – as I mentioned is our Zarid Javadoff in his corner. Former Kok welterweight champion may be the top kickboxer out of Latvia as well as Freimanis’s teammate.
Oh my goodness! Good knee on the inside. That’s what he’s doing, a lot of his work on the inside. Again he nodded. This is what Freimanis has to do but the thing is, Pok Bill then punishes him two or three times. He’s got through with very clean shots but what comes back at him is the danger.
He’s looking for that right hand. You can see he’s looking to set it up. He’s got to set it up and throw it more freely if he’s gonna get anything out of this bout.
Freimanis Goes Down
Pok Bill counters and Freimanis goes down. That was the timing, doubling it up. He waited till Freimanis came in, and shifted his balance. The right hand came through the channel. Look at him! He’s like a shark ready to strike again.
Freimanis is in real trouble here. Pok Bill’s corner said to step it up, that’s what he’s doing. He’s asked him to come forward. He’s checking if those legs are all right. Well, Freimanis got rocked. He got rocked that he is hurt right now, he’s very discombobulated I think and Pok Bill’s looking to close the show.
Well, he’s staying in the pocket now. The right hand was a flash knockout. That one crossed his eyes! He just knocked him into next week. This one is history. Daniel the corner said step it up, let’s get in, and let’s strike harder. He listened to his corner and you know what when this man goes through the gears that were frightening.
I’m not so sure that should have ended the fight though. I think the referee should have given him an eight-count in fairness. I think he should have given giving him an eight count and given Freimanis a chance. I don’t think he’s gonna win the fight but he should have given him a chance to get back up.
I think Freimanis’s corner was saying exactly that once the ref came over. Yep, exactly. I think they’re saying come on! This is a grandprix, give me that opportunity but let’s not take away from the accuracy of Pok Bill here. Let’s take another look. There it is. Let’s see.
Should the fight have been stopped because of that? He shook his head no and he looked like he wanted to get back up. Nevertheless, he was in deep, deep trouble by this point. It may have been a foregone conclusion anyway but you at least got to give the guy a chance.
Pok Bell looking very, very impressive here and certainly ending the fight before the final bell which is going to work to his advantage in the finals. He took maybe three shots in that round and a half. He’s gonna be so fresh and so dangerous.
Ladies’ semi-final KOK GrandPrix Semifinals fight. In the very second round by technical knockout, the winner is at the KOK GrandPrix and goes Pok Bill.
What a great performance there from Pok Bill taking out Janis Freimanis in the second round and punching his ticket to the finals later tonight. Thanks for reading or tuning in.
