Muay Thai Basic Posture & Movement
The initial steps and position form the foundation of both attack and defense movements. The Muay Thai beginner should devote much of his time working on these vital bases of the fight. Staying light and with relaxed muscles allows for faster execution of movements.
The fighter should not cross his feet while applying the blows. The guard must be kept high at all times. Where should the fighter focus his gaze? In the chest area of the opponent is a good start, but the fighter must try to keep his peripheral vision active to be able to defend against any danger that the opponent offers.
