Executing the Axe Kick: Begin in the starting position of fighting, distribute your body weight to the front leg. Lift the rear leg quickly above your opponent, in an arch on the inside. Lift the heel of the support leg for more flexibility. Using the leg muscles and with the use of the hip, direct the blow vertically to the target. For best results, keep the leg straight, the point of contact and the heel. Keep your guard high, and return quickly to the fighting position.
